Never did I think I’d have the privilege of photographing a Scottish wedding but I did! The best part was that it was my cousin marrying the sweetest woman! Well, it was also really fun that we all dressed in our finest Stewart plaids, me included!
Tami has actually felt like family for 14 years now…uh hum…about time, Greg. She’s been to all the Thanksgivings and loves us all so easily. Naturally, welcoming her into the family and having her take our name meant so much to all of us. Tami is so selfless. She almost offered to take in my dress for the wedding just a week before the big day. Greg and I both said, “Oh hell no!” to that offer! She raises her grandson as her own and loves Greg’s son like he is her’s as well. She’s pretty much a nerd like the rest of us Stewart’s are so she fits in perfectly. Tami please take that as I complement. I’ve finally come to accept that I’m pretty geeky along with the rest of them.
Then the big day we’ve all been so excited about finally arrived. I enjoyed seeing how much Tami loves my cousin through her tears and how show simply looks at him. I’d never really noticed that before and it truly warmed my heart to know that he’s loved so well. The same went for watching my cousin love his new bride. It was apparent in the way he looked after her and held her gently as they danced. I think their dance may have been my favorite part. They sang to one another and held each other close. I could tell the words they were saying meant a lot to them. Um, I did also love when my family got on the dance floor in all that plaid and did the macarena… so funny!
Undoubtedly, I am beyond thankful the call Tami family now, as is right.
