In a world where the stories we hear about teenagers are all about how lost they are, how messed up they seem, what pour choices they’re making, there are some that are on a good path & a breathe of fresh air. I’ve found a hand full in the small town of Selma, AL. These senior girls I’ve photographed over the past couple of years have given me so much hope for our future! I’m just gonna say there may be something to small towns, bringing your kids up in church, & being an example of how much fun walking with God can be. Those things may turn a nation & in turn the world around.
This beautiful girl is one of them. I so love SM’s heart! The church I attend when I’m in Selma begins at 8:00 am. Yes, you read that right, 8 o’clock on a Sunday morning! Anyway, I love looking across the sanctuary & seeing SM there, with wet hair sometimes, but there with or without her parents. She went to Ireland this year on a mission trip, which I hear was AMAZING! I just feel like her heart is set on God & she’ll pursue Him with her life. She’s a rockstar babysitter, a kind hearted clearer of dinner plates in the torrential downpour before my own wedding (she was soaked!), she is taking care of herself in my monthly health challenges, & seems to be a super friend. She’s beautiful inside & out & inspires me & encourages me on a daily basis.
